In order to promote the higher education of young researchers in the environmental applications of advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), a group of scientists from different European Universities and Research Institutes, founded (in June 2014) the “European PhD School on AOPs”. Subsequently (since October 18, 2018), with the aim to make the association international, even Institutions from no EU Countries have joined the School. 

Presently, the IPS-AOP includes 75 Scientific Committee members from 25 different Countries. 

The Summer School is among the initiatives organized for IP-AOP PhD candidates, but other PhD students, MSc students, post-doctoral researchers and professionals are also welcome. The School program includes: (i) an overview of the most important aspects related to AOPs presented by experts of international relevance, (ii) parallel discussion groups on the topics of the day session, chaired by the respective speakers; PhD students can join the discussion group better fits their interest to discuss in more detail the topic the speaker introduced in the day session; (iii) interactive poster (A0 size recommended - 1189 × 841 mm) session: the speakers of the day will be in charge of a few number of posters to ask questions to the respective authors (PhD students), they will finally select 8 PhD students for a short oral presentation (5 min), to be held on the last day, among which the best poster will be awarded.

Invited Lectures are typically of 40 min (including 5 min for questions).

Poster communications from PhD students

PhD students are strongly encouraged to prepare a communication of their PhD thesis work on environmental application of AOP, as a poster. The evaluation committee will select up to 8 PhD students for a short oral presentation (5 min), to be held on the last day. The best poster and short presentation will be finally awarded.
